In a context of growing risks from anthropogenic and natural hazards faced by our society, the objective of the security research activities in this area is to support disaster risk management and governance through enhanced capacities, technologies for first responders and overall societal resilience. The Community for European Research and Innovation for Security (CERIS) tries to break the ice between the different stakeholders and facilitate dialogue on this topic (among others).
The Disaster Resilience Days event is organised under CERIS every year and brings together experts, policymakers, and innovators from across Europe and beyond to discuss disaster resilience, preparedness, and technological advancements in crisis response and preparedness. This multi-day conference features keynote presentations from the European Commission and Member States, insightful panel discussions, live demonstrations of cutting-edge projects, and opportunities for collaboration.
