Security Research Event: Join Europe’s biggest event on research and innovation in internal security

SRE 2025

The Security Research Event, a recurrent event organised by the European Commission’s department for Migration and Home Affairs, will take place in Warsaw on 24 and 25 June 2025. In times of global uncertainty, the rise of organised crime, and increasing concerns around the role of technology in civil security, the Security Research Event is looking into the importance of fostering security innovation in Europe.

With an agenda full of leading experts from academia, industry and policy as well as safety and security practitioners, the discussions will focus on solutions made in Europe to address global challenges. Panels will be about future technologies for border management, the importance of robust supply chains for critical infrastructure, the role of security research in crisis preparedness and solutions for the fight against crime and terrorism, among other exciting topics.

EU-funded projects will be invited to showcase their prototypes and solutions to the security problems of the future in the adjacent exhibition hall with live demonstrations. The event will be accompanied by the Security Innovation Award ceremony, shining a spotlight on the most spectacular success stories in EU-funded security innovation.

In addition, Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration, Magnus Brunner will hold his first implementation dialogue on the challenges of the EU’s security industry competitiveness and uptake of security innovation.
